Dr. eric s. muff

Dr. Eric Muff was born and raised in Auburn, California. He attended Bowman Elementary School, E.V. Cain Middle School, and Placer High School. While at Placer High School he played football and wrestled for the Placer Hillmen, served as captain of the wrestling team for two years and competed at the CIF state wrestling championships. At the conclusion of his senior year he was ranked in the top ten in the State of California for his weight bracket. When he was not pursuing his studies and athletic endeavors, he was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 277 in Auburn, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. It was on the many troop outings that he learned to enjoy exploring the American River Canyon and the Sierra Nevada. Beginning at age 16, Dr. Muff spent three summers in Alaska working as an outdoor guide at a wilderness lodge on the remote Holitna River. While working there he discovered the pleasure that comes from helping his clients. The rewards for the clients were big fish (and lots of them!).

After Placer High School Dr. Muff went on to graduate from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Anatomy and Physiology and a minor in Biotechnology. In San Luis Obispo, he became the first student member of Partnership for the Children, a nonprofit organization that funds a Pediatric dental clinic for underserved children in San Luis Obispo County. Upon graduation from Cal Poly SLO, Dr. Muff worked for a year as a Research Associate at Santa Cruz Biotech, Inc., developing antibodies for medical research.

Dr. Muff received his training at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. While attending Dugoni he demonstrated his commitment to the community with his involvement in service projects in the San Francisco area. Upon his graduation, Dr. Muff was inducted into Tau Kappa Omega honor fraternity, in recognition of his outstanding performance at the Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Dr. Muff is excited to live in Auburn again! In his free time, Dr. Muff loves to be in the outdoors fishing, hiking and exploring new areas in the foothills and the surrounding Sierra Nevada. Dr. Muff and his wife Lindy are enjoying getting involved in the community, and he is excited to be caring for patients at the Auburn Dental Group.
