About Us

In 1929, Dr. Roy Howard Muff graduated from University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He didn't know it at the time, but his three sons John, Jim and Bruce Muff would follow in his footsteps and go on to complete their dental educations at USC and continue the family tradition.

Drs. John, Jim, and Bruce moved to Northern California and Nevada and have continued to build a reputation of high quality and honest dental care. John has seen three of his sons become dentists. Drs. Mike and Jim Muff practice together in Chico, CA, and their brother, Dr. Dan Muff is an oral surgeon in Reno, NV.

Bruce’s son, Dr. Eric Muff received his Bachelors of Science in Human Anatomy and Physiology with a minor in Biotechnology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Upon moving to San Francisco with his wife Lindy, Dr. Eric was soon accepted to the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Eric’s acceptance came 86 years after his grandfather graduated from University of Southern California and subsequently began the family dental tradition.

Dr. Eric Muff graduated with honors from University of the Pacific and is a member of the Tau Kappa Omega honors fraternity. He graduated from UOP's state of the art dental education facility in San Francisco, the most advanced of its kind.

Dr. Eric is proud to carry on a long family tradition, drawing on more than a century of family dental experience in clinical practice. Dr. Eric, is most excited to continue providing ethical care, focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, for his patients at Auburn Dental Group.

Drs. Bruce and Eric Muff love the Sierra Nevada Foothills. When they are not in the office they can be found enjoying the outdoors with their family and friends.
